Setting + Context
During the Spring semester of 2020, I conducted part of my practicum experience at Conrad Ball Middle School in Loveland, Colorado. Kendra Vair served as my professor + guide in the course--teaching myself + my colleagues about topics such as writing lesson plans in accordance to the state standards, prompting + nurturing connections in the classroom, and real-time discussion about our classroom experiences at CBMS.
Mr. Brown served as my mentor teacher. I observed and assistant taught in his 6th grade Technology class, a course which led students through the exploration of a variety of building tools + strategies while educating them about the fundamentals of the design process + introduction to the physics of engineering. During my time at Conrad Ball Middle School, I was able to be fully engulfed in a 6th grade classroom environment. Alongside my practicum work with Mr. Brown in his Tech class, Kendra Vair served as a highly influential role model + guide through the course, Instruction I-Individualization/Management. Kendra prepared a variety of topics to explore, discuss, + practice. Through both my hands-on practicum work + educational experience with my colleagues and Ms. Vair, I was able to compile a variety of experiences, knowledge, + ideas for my future classroom and build up my identity as an educator. |
